The role:
At this time, they are looking to engage with experienced underwriters with small to mid commercial underwriting experience. In this position, you will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and pricing new and renewal business based on company standards and within granted underwriting authority.
As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Meeting profitability and written premium goals for as determined by the department
- Evaluating, selecting, and pricing new and renewal business based on company standards and within granted underwriting authority
- Support marketing functions and efforts to build and promote the company
- Building and maintaining agency relationships
The Senior Underwriter should have the following skills:
- 5+ years of Commercial Underwriting/Insurance experience
- Expertise in Commercial Property, General Liability or BOP's a plus!
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to effectively multi-task and demonstrate excellent time management skills while exhibiting good judgement
- Willing to travel at least once a quarter to assigned underwriting territory with Field Representative to develop agency relationships
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience
