Oliver James have partnered with a tier 1 life insurer to help them source an Actuary or an Accountant to join their Hong Kong Group office. The person will be a member of the Business Finance team within the Global Insurance Finance function and report to the Head of Analysis, Insight and Financial Planning, based in Hong Kong

The role involves:

• High quality internal and external communication of the business performance & financial results, including to investors, analysts, Global Insurance Executives, regional and group Investor relations teams, Finance teams
• Assess and challenge business unit planning, strategies, new products and transactions across the full suite of commercial and capital lenses
• High quality insight and analysis over financial performance, forecast, plan and projections, including bench-marked in the context of industry peers' performance
• Maintenance of a formal framework to assess investment cases, and performing critical reviews of such cases
• Delivery of high quality insight and analysis of the product and business performance under IFRS 17
• Integration of the new planning, forecasting and analysis capabilities and solutions being built by the IFRS 17 programme into BAU

They require:

• Expert understanding of the life insurance industry including IFRS 17, embedded value reporting and risk-based capital frameworks
• Strong financial background - including in-depth understanding of financial markets (theory & instruments)
• Strong working experience and exposure to Life Insurance Financial metrics (including IFRS 17 related financial metrics)
• Accounting or Actuarial designation would be desirable
