A specialist underwriter in Brussels is seeking to recruit an Insurance Accountant to join their Finance Team.

Responsibilities will be:

• Processing of non-technical and technical information in the accounting system
• Preparing bank, bordereaux and other reconciliations as necessary
• Assisting in the preparation of management accounts on a monthly basis
• Assisting in the preparation of regulatory returns before submission to the respective regulators
• Liaising with other internal departments and responding to ad-hoc queries from the different stakeholders across multiple business areas and functions
• Liaising with internal and external auditors as well as other consultants including tax specialists, and other external stakeholders
• Support the CFO in ensuring that the control environment is working effectively

The ideal candidate will be:

• A fully qualified accountant preferably with insurance experience
• Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Proactive, flexible and be able to work on an independent basis
