Global Business Controller

My client is Dutch-based Recruitment and Staffing organisation based in Almere. The organisation is looking for a driven, curious and entrepreneurial Global Business Controller to be a sparring partner of the CEO.

Role Description:

As a Global Business Controller you will act as a Finance Business Partner to our operating companies, acting as a true business partner offering strategic insight, advice and support to the local CFOs while managing the creation of information and insights to support both the OpCo and Executive Management Team.

Due to the rapid and continuous growth and transition of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time.

Key Accountabilities

Providing quality financial outputs, including:

  • In year management and long term forecasting for assigned business unit
  • Ensuring the month end actuals are correctly reported and in-line with forecast expectations keeping variances to <5%
  • Highlight future performance concerns; developing gap closure plans, leading the discussions with the OpCo to achieve budget, ensuring all plans have clear owners, specific, time bound and driven to execution
  • Identification and management of financial risks and levers to increase/decrease cost
  • Working with the Executive team to set budgets
  • Providing financial support and inputs to for Investment opportunities and business cases
  • Working alongside OpCos to create a culture where data is accurate and compliant of Company policy and procedures
  • Holding the OpCos to account through regular scrutiny, review & challenge and working with them to drive forward process improvements.
  • Create financial reporting and analysis on request

Role Requirements:

  • Master degree in Accounting or Economics, preferably supplemented with Post Master (CPA); 3-6 years of progressive experience in Business/ Commercial Finance position preferably within an international organization
  • Track record of commercial excellence strong business acumen
  • Works well in a team and individually , is confident and enthusiastic
  • Highly analytical, motivated, with excellent collaboration skills; leverages understanding of key business drivers to deliver results
  • Ability to think broadly and influence multiple stakeholders
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills, proven experience of providing high quality support to senior leaders
  • Advanced in MS Office programs
  • Strong collaboration & matrix management skills required, planful, comfortable with the detail
  • Work to identify areas for improvement, change driven, entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Strong business acumen, able to see the bigger picture and work at a strategic level, yet know the details
  • Business English is essential; Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence at all levels
  • Some travel may be required
