Our presence in the Swiss market is growing. As one of the final frontiers in Europe for Oliver James Associates, now is the time for us to expand our local presence, bringing our high quality and excellent delivery within our core markets throughout Switzerland. To assist us in building on our presence, Oliver James Associates is proud to welcome Aaron Hadley as Director of Oliver James Switzerland.
European Director Ben Moses says: “Having Aaron as part of the team means we can reach our goal of becoming the choice recruitment firm in Switzerland. This means being the best at what we do in our core markets and being recognised for our high quality and excellent delivery.”
Aaron has ten years’ experience specialising in change within the financial services and spent the past five building a dedicated retail financial services change function including project managers, programme managers and specialists in tech and DevOps. We caught up with him to find out more…
What attracted you to working with Oliver James?
Oliver James is one of the few organisations I’ve come across that fits with the way I like to do business and how I like to operate. It’s also one of the few organisations that manages to keep a high level of quality: not just in terms of delivery, but also in terms of individuals. OJ is all about driving growth and keeping quality, so it matched with my ideals, and it’s also going in the direction I want to go. Everything matched up.
What kind of service can people expect to receive with you at the helm of the Swiss market?
Quality, honesty and trusted advice. We want to build long-standing relationships on the quality of the service we are delivering. Becoming the trusted partner to the Swiss market has got to be done through doing what we do well. It’s just having a long-term view: doing the basics well and doing them regularly, without compromising on the detail.
What calibre of candidate are you going to be working with?
What’s important to mention here is that we aim to work with the best fit for the businesses we are working with. It’s about understanding what qualities a client needs for a role – be it a specific temporary engagement or a long-term strategic contributor. Regardless, we are looking to work with candidates who want to add value and are eager to grow. That means top-tier change, tech and FARC talent who are actively seeking self-improvement and opportunities to make a difference.
How is the OJ approach different to other agencies operating in the Swiss market?
Our honesty and our ability to ask the difficult questions other recruiters fail to ask. This market is about being able to have the courage to be honest with people, no matter the circumstance. Asking the difficult questions and being honest about the best way forward is a more of long-term view and is guaranteed to bring the best results. We are also one of the only operators who has global presence and world class infrastructure but are committed to the local market.
If you could give a message to prospective clients/candidates, what would it be?
At Oliver James, we don’t provide a transactional service: everything is bespoke. We proactively match candidates and organisations with the same values and we’re able to do so because the team is built up of specialists who each work within one single vertical. They are immersed in their markets, they know them inside-out and will always go that extra mile. We can provide honest, consultative advice to support both sides of the process.
LinkedIn is great – but it’s a database, not a relationship. So, if you’re a candidate who wants the best-matched roles to enhance your career, or if you’re a client who wants access to the best talent in the market then come and have a chat.
